Our Commitment to Safety

Safety isn't a feature we added — it's the foundation we built on.

TheKoi is an advertising platform. But we operate on public roads, in the sightlines of other drivers, in neighbourhoods where people live, work, and send their kids to school. That comes with a responsibility we take seriously — not as a regulatory checkbox, but as a core design principle.

Speed-Limited Operation

Displays automatically deactivate when a vehicle exceeds 80 km/h. TheKoi is an urban and suburban platform — not a highway distraction.

School Zone Awareness

When a TheKoi vehicle enters a 1 km radius of a public school, the display transitions to a "School Zone" notification. Advertising content is suppressed.

Emergency Zone Deactivation

Displays auto-deactivate within proximity of hospitals, police stations, and fire stations to avoid contributing to visual clutter in emergency-sensitive areas.

Community Zone Sensitivity

Playgrounds, community centres, and public parks trigger automatic deactivation — keeping residential and recreational spaces free from commercial messaging.

Brightness Control

Display brightness adjusts automatically based on time of day to prevent nighttime glare for following drivers and pedestrians.

Civic Partnerships

TheKoi's platform is capable of broadcasting geo-targeted public safety messages — including Amber Alerts, severe weather warnings, construction zone notifications, and emergency broadcasts.

Always on. Always enforced.

Every one of these controls is enforced at the platform level. Drivers don't manage them. Advertisers can't override them. They're always on.

We don't believe a company that operates on public infrastructure gets to ignore its obligations to the public.
